Bosnia & Herzegovina announce squad for 2026 World Cup playoff semifinal against Wales

Bosnia confirm roster for the Nations League competition.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina team for the forthcoming UEFA Nations League matches in late September and early October 2026 has been revealed by head coach Sergej Barbarez.

Veteran captain Edin Džeko has been called up and is likely to play his last competition as he confirmed in his recent post about his retirement.

“Sometimes I found myself wondering when this moment would come… But I never imagined how emotional I would feel writing these words. On October 2nd, against Sweden, I will play my next and final match for our national team.”

Bosnia and Herzegovina are in Group H of the Nations League and commence the tournament against Poland. Three days later, they will return to action against Romania in their group fixture.

They have a decent group and should be able to book their place in the knockout stage, as only Poland and Sweden will pose a danger in their hopes of progressing from the group.

The Dragons will play four matches, with two fixtures taking place in September and the other two in early October.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, who played in the World Cup but their campaing was cut short, will now turn their attention towards another tournament, hoping to go further in the event.
