The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup is already in the knockout stage. A total of 1,248 players across 48 nations started the battle for the prestigious title this year in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

The number of teams are decreasing as the days pass, and only the deserving side will go on to clinch the World Cup crown. France, Spain and England are the favourites to win the flagship tournament this year. With their star-studded lineups, they have a slight edge over the other nations.

Led by Didier Deschamps, the France national team have been on a sensational run of form. They secured wins in all of their group stage matches and defeated Sweden to get to the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup 2026. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace and Bradley Barcola was one of the goal scorers in helping Les Bleus progress further.

Goal 1: France 3-1 Senegal

Bradley Barcola scored his maiden goal at the grandest stage of them all for the France national football team. It was his World Cup debut. He came off the bench in the 80th minute and, just two minutes later, he fired the ball at the back of the net. Kylian Mbappe scored the other two goals against the Lions of Teranga.

Goal 2: France 3-0 Sweden

The 23-year-old scored his second goal at the FIFA World Cup in a much calmer and more composed fashion. France were already 1-0 up thanks to Kylian Mbappe once again. This time around, Bradley Barcola started for Les Bleus on the left flank. Michael Olise came up with a sensational through ball and Barcola used the opportunity to score a goal. His goal eventually helped France secure a 3-0 win.
