On the other hand, the five-time champions topped their respective group with 7 points in three games. They started their campaign with a draw against Morocco; however, they later defeated Scotland and Haiti with identical 3-0 scores.

The Selecao faced Japan in the round of 32 and conceded first. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men crafted a brilliant return, and thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s late winner, they secured a narrow 2-0 win over the Samurai Blue. Both sides have won their first knockout games with an identical scoreline.

However, hungry for a title, the underdogs are set to face the giants on the grandest stage of global football.
