Manchester United have presented Bruno Fernandes with a new deal. But the Portuguese midfielder has not been satisfied with the proposal. He has decided to reject it!
The offer contained only €500,000 extra each year, which was insufficient to persuade Fernandes to prolong his stay at the club. As things stand, Bruno Fernandes may depart Manchester United as a free agent next summer.
United are likely to come with a fresh offer. They want to keep their star midfielder for many more years,
Bruno Fernandes turns down United contract proposal
Fernandes’ current contract expires in one year, with the option for an extra season. It is understood that he would rather stay.
A £57 million release clause on the Portugal international’s deal has already expired. Fernandes set a Premier League record with 21 assists last season. He is favourite to be named PFA Player of the Year for 2025-26 in Manchester next week.
Galatasaray are interested in Bruno Fernandes. The Turkish club have offered him a lucrative contract, but the midfielder has no desire to leave the English club. Fernandes is largely regarded as Manchester United’s finest player, breaking the Premier League assists record last season.
The club are keen not to lose him.
It has also been suggested that Fernandes desires to stay at United. He is captain and popular with the fans. It comes only days before United begin their 2026-27 campaign against newly promoted Hull City.
Manager Michael Carrick will be hoping for a stronger showing than his team put up during their previous pre-season match. It was a defeat against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan.
