Top five youngsters to look out for in Bundesliga 2022-23 season

The German top flight has now become a go-to place for every young prodigy for development.
Over the past few years, the Bundesliga have evolved into the ultimate talent-nourishing forum for young players. A number of generational talents have emerged through ranks here in recent years. This list includes players like Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Alphonso Davies, etc. Every season, the list seems to grow with new additions. A similar emergence occurred last year when Christopher Nkunku stunned the world with his breathtaking performances.
Today we are going to take a look at five youngsters to watch out for in the next Bundesliga season.
5. Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz)
Jonathan Burkardt is a striker for Mainz. In the past two seasons, the 21-year-old has been a consistent member of Mainz's starting lineup. However, he hasn't been used as a proper striker and mainly played the second fiddle role as a centre forward or right-side forward. Last season, Burkardt started 32 games and scored 11 goals.
He was the fourth-highest German goalscorer last season and is already touted to become the next lethal frontman for the German National Team. Burkardt is a natural finisher and has already proved his mettle in the Bundesliga. There is no doubt that he will be one to watch next season.
4. Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)

Jeremie Frimpong was the Bundesliga's biggest surprise last year. Despite a disastrous debut season for Bayer Leverkusen in 2020-21, the Dutch right-back's comeback was a big story last season. He broke into Leverkusen's starting lineup and made the right-back spot his own.
The Dutch Under-21 international made 25 starts last season and also contributed six assists. After starting his career with Manchester City, Frimpong moved to Celtic before moving to Germany. The expectations for him going into 2022-23 are really high after he showed huge potential last season.
3. Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)
Josko Gvardiol was RB Leipzig's replacement for Dayot Upamecano last season, and he certainly stepped up in those big shoes with confidence. The Croatian centre-back was rock solid for Die Roten Bullen and demonstrated great authority at the back. Also, Gvardiol can play left-back, making him very versatile.
He made 29 appearances in the Bundesliga last season and had a passing accuracy of over 85%. Gvardiol is only 20, but is already blowing the minds of some of the top clubs around the world. Some of the big European clubs are already keeping an eye on his talent in the near future. The 20-year-old is certainly going to be one of the biggest players to watch out for in the whole of Europe.
2. Ryan Gravenberch (FC Bayern)

This summer, FC Bayern signed Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for a reported €19 million after his stellar performances for Ajax. The Ajax starlet emerged as one of the best midfielders in Europe last season, and FC Bayern have procured a real gem at a great price. A box-to-box midfielder by trade, Ryan Gravenberch will face competition from Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich for a place in the starting lineup.
The Dutch midfielder is tall, strong and is inherent with great stamina. It seems like the former Ajax midfielder resembles N'golo Kante especially when it comes to his ball skills. With a stellar season with Ajax last year, Gravenberch is primed for continued success in German football.
1. Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund)
Karim Adeyemi has been entrusted with the big shoes of Erling Haaland by Borussia Dortmund next season. During last season, the German forward scored 18 goals for Red Bull Salzburg. It is believed that Adeyemi will be the next addition to Dortmund's impressive list of strikers, which includes Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Erling Haaland.
Karim Adeyemi has already broken into the German National team and is highly rated by Hansi Flick himself. In comparison to Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski, he isn't as physically strong, but he has a similar clinical finishing touch. Depending on how he links with Reus, Bellingham, and Brandt, Adeyemi could be a breakout player next season.
