Chelsea vs Real Sociedad: Full lineups confirmed as Morgan Rogers starts in pre-season friendly

The English Premier League side, Chelsea FC, are now preparing for their sixth club friendly ahead of the new season. They will have a face-off against Pellegrino Matarazzo’s Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.

The Xabi Alonso-led side were held to a 3-3 draw by the Malaysian club, Johor Darul Tazim, in their previous pre-season contest. It was once again a contest of poor defending by Chelsea, which they still need to fix. The Blues will not compete in any European competition during the 2026-27 campaign, but still have a chance to win a domestic treble. Alonso’s men must come up with a calm and composed approach.

The LaLiga club Real Sociedad have now faced back-to-back defeats in their last two matches and will be eager to jump back to winning ways. With the new season about to start, they cannot afford a defeat against Chelsea. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men are going to face tough competition at home, but they should be able to penetrate their opponent’s defence with constant pressure.
