Carlos Tevez, one of Boca Juniors’ most iconic players, has brought good news to football fans all across the world. Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Lionel Messi of Argentina will play on the same team during Tevez’s farewell match.
Tevez announced that the historic event will take place at the legendary La Bombonera stadium.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing on the same team at his final match in Buenos Aires in December 2026, according to “Foot Mercato“.

After securing both players’ approval, the former Boca Juniors striker revealed that they will play together. It’s an incredible fit for someone who has shared a locker room with both titans. Tevez partnered Messi for Argentina and Ronaldo at Manchester United.
“I have always dreamed of seeing Cristiano and Leo playing in one team. They are the greatest players of all time. I got in touch with them, especially Cristiano. I said to him: Cristiano, I want you and Messi in the same team in my farewell match. So that the whole world witnesses this magic once and for all.”
He continued: “He said he would be there. Convincing Leo was not difficult either. They both agreed, and I am extremely excited. This match will be very moving.”
The match date has not been formally announced, but it is expected to take place either the weekend of December 12-13 or the following weekend, December 19-20.
Tevez, who has played for Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Corinthians, and Argentina, intends to invite about 60 football luminaries, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
