Croatia announce squad for upcoming September & October UEFA Nations League fixtures; Luka Modric called up

The Vatreni will start a new era under a new manager.
Slaven Bilić has named his first Croatia team since returning as head coach, including Dinamo Zagreb’s Josip Mišić and Dion Drena Beljo, for a difficult UEFA Nations League schedule.
Bilić has chosen 26 players for his first international meeting since taking command of Croatia again. The team is poised for a very hectic spell, with four matches in only 12 days.
Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Josip Mišić has been called up to the senior national team, while Dinamo attacker Dion Drena Beljo is also on the roster.
The list indicates that captain Luka Modrić will continue his international career. Modrić has told the Croatian Football Federation that he is still eligible for the national squad.
Bilić cited the busy schedule as one factor in picking a larger group of players.
“This is a specific situation: four matches in 12 days. We need a few more players, and this is also my first gathering, so I want to see them all,” Bilić said.
He said that he has chosen a roster of 23 players, with three further choices.
