Diego Simeone confirms Julian Alvarez 'will be part' of Atletico Madrid vs Athletic Club LaLiga clash

Julian Alvarez has returned to Atletico Madrid’s squad following a summer overshadowed by rumours about his future. Diego Simeone is suggesting that the Argentine must now turn the disappointment of missing out on a Barcelona move into an opportunity.
Atletico will play Athletic Club at San Mames on Saturday, with Julian Alvarez expected to rejoin the team after staying at the Metropolitano over the transfer deadline.
Barcelona attempted to sign the striker during the summer. But the deal never materialised. Atletico ruled out his move to the direct rival in the league.
The Argentine’s ambition to join Barcelona was insufficient to persuade Atletico to authorise the move; therefore, the player remained in Madrid and will play for them this season.

Simeone was asked about the 26-year-old star before the Athletic match. The coach confirmed his participation.
“Julian is training very well; he will be called up tomorrow and will be part of the squad travelling to Bilbao, and we are expecting the best from him, just as we do from all his teammates.”
The Atletico manager did not say if Julian Alvarez will start or come off the bench. Rather, his advice was on how the attacker should react to the aborted Barcelona trade and move on from that failed transfer.
Simeone wants the striker to forget about what occurred during the transfer window and focus on the future. Julian Alvarez being at Atletico does not mean the Barcelona drama is over.
Rather, as previously reported, Barcelona are already preparing for another effort in the January transfer window.
