01:30 PM Hello and welcome to Khel Now's live coverage of Durand Cup 2021. With the group stage done and dusted, now begins the final stretch of the tournament starting with the quarter-finals. After FC Bengaluru United and Mohammedan SC advanced to the last-four, today's clash will see FC Goa and Delhi FC fight it out against each other for the same.

I am your host, Ujyant Ramesh and today I will be keeping you company with updates from the FC Goa vs Delhi FC game as they happen.

FC Goa vs Delhi FC: building up

The Gaurs qualified for the Durand Cup 2021 knockouts with ease, winning all three of their matches in the group stage. They were hence the table-toppers in Group B. Army Green qualified with them as the second-placed team, while Jamshedpur FC and Sudeva Delhi got eliminated.

Delhi FC, meanwhile, proved to be surprise entry to the Durand Cup 2021 quarter-finals, from Group C. The group had to ISL sides in Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters, and a strong Services side in Indian Navy.

The team from Delhi beat Kerala Blasters and drew against Bengaluru FC, to finish second in the group. They lost only to Indian Navy. BFC finished first and they qualified to the knockouts along with Delhi FC, while Kerala Blasters and Indian Navy got eliminated.

In their most recent game, Delhi FC beat an almost full-strength Kerala Blasters side and as a result, FC Goa could be wary of their challenge. The Gaurs also have other concerns, as voiced by head coach Juan Ferrando and Director of Football Ravi Puskur. Since the beginning of the tournament, the ISL giants have expressed dissatisfaction in the quality and availability of training facilities, match venues, pitch quality and so on.

They are also concerned about player safety - which is understandable as they are participating with a near full-strength side even with the ISL coming up. Reportedly, there have been talks of FC Goa withdrawing from the competition too - but as evident right now, they are playing against Delhi FC.
