Twitter reacts to Elon Musk's tweet about buying Manchester United

Manchester United have started the new season in the same way they left off last season. 2 successive league defeats in the opening games of the Premier League. But, it could get even worse for Erik ten Hag's men as they take on Liverpool in their next Premier League match. The red devils achieved their worst ever points finish in the Premier League era and key players left Old Trafford at the start of the transfer window.
The appointment of John Murtough and Richard Arnold were potentially seen as the turning point in Manchester United's transfer disasters. But, with just a few weeks left in the transfer window, the Red Devils have not done any real business. But, the problem runs further up at the club. The fans have been constantly protesting against the club's owners. The green and gold movement has been taking place for many years now.
In a recent interview, former Manchester United director Michael Knighton talked about launching a takeover bid for the club in the upcoming days. Lifelong Manchester United fan Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also reportedly interested in making a takeover bid for the club. Tesla CEO Elon Musk put out a tweet about buying Manchester United.

While the Tesla CEO confirmed that he was only going off a long-running joke on Twitter. But, some fans and media dug deeper into the news and found out that Musk sold 3.3m Tesla shares, worth over $4.3 billion last week. This is about around the same price tag the Glazer family have set for Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo situation
Cristiano Ronaldo has been reported to be looking for a move away from the club after they missed out on Champions League football. Reports suggest that the Portuguese star is keen to play in the Champions League this season. But, the Manchester United star commented on an Instagram post saying that everyone will know the truth after his interview in a couple of weeks. He also called the media liars and that over 100 news reports after his name were published, only 5 of them were true.

Amongst the long-running joke, Elon Musk also confirmed that despite not being interested in buying any sports teams. If he was to buy any football teams it could be Manchester United. He also goes on to say that the red devils were his favourite team when he was a kid.
