The last two encounters between these nations ended in favour of Les Bleus!

Led by Thomas Tuchel, the England national football team will be back in action at the FIFA World Cup 2026. This time they are going to have a face-off with the French national football team for the bronze medal. The France vs England clash is all set to take place at the Hard Rock Stadium.

The Three Lions are coming in after facing a defeat at the hands of the defending champions, Argentina. Tuchel’s men had a hard-fought battle against Lionel Messi and company. The England national football team took the lead in the second half after a goal by Anthony Gordon. They switched to a defensive approach after that and it all went downhill for them.

The Englishmen conceded two late goals and hence lost the contest by 1-2. They will be battling it out against Kylian Mbappe and company in what is going to be a third-place match. The winner will take the bronze medal and the losing side will end up fourth in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Thoughts on the lineup

After their fall against Lionel Messi and Argentina, there are going to be changes in the England national football team for their third-place game. Ivan Toney will lead the charge in the attacking front. He will be accompanied by Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka on the flanks.

Declan Rice will once again be the centre point of the midfield, with Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze playing as attacking midfielders. They must look to establish more control this time around.

Jarell Quansah, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and Djed Spence are going to be the main men in the defence. Dean Henderson is going to be the first-choice goalkeeper.
