Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has spoken out about his unusual encounter with Hollywood actor Tom Holland, describing how he handled an unexpected transfer proposal for Tottenham. The Spider-Man hero tried to use his charm to get the Norwegian to north London before he moved to the Etihad Stadium.
The cultures of Hollywood and the Premier League clashed unexpectedly when Holland, best known for his portrayal as Spider-Man, sought to play a football agent.
Holland, a die-hard Tottenham supporter, approached Erling Haaland at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix. Back then, the striker was the most wanted talent in global football after scoring 41 goals for Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland explained, while detailing the contents of the message he received:
The 26-year-old striker said it read: “Hiya mate, just saw you in Monaco. If you want to grab a drink or something, give me a shout. And please come join Spurs.”
“That’s the Spider-Man guy, and I don’t watch Spider-Man.”
Erling Haaland finally addressed the rejection on his YouTube channel, explaining that he was not purposely chilly to the movie star. The Man City forward confessed he didn’t know who Holland was at the time of the original contact.
While Erling Haaland’s ultimate objective was Man City, where he has since smashed innumerable records, he did ultimately respond to the actor after he understood who was sending the message.

Haaland sought to clear the air when accusations surfaced that he had harshly rejected Holland as “a random person.”
Holland joked on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon about the world’s top striker’s lack of enthusiasm.
“That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors.”
In a comment that rapidly went viral among both football and movie fans, Haaland tagged the actor and added, “Dinner invitation accepted. A little late. Just name the place!”
