The whole world came together to offer thoughts and prayers for the Danish midfielder.

Fans of football witnessed a horrific scene on Saturday, June 12 at EURO 2020, when Denmark star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during the match against against Finland in Copenhagen. Some brilliant first-aid work by teammate Simon Kjaer and the medical staff helped Eriksen regain consciousness, and he is currently recovering at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

The incident happened late in the first-half of the match, and the previously noisy crowd at the Parken Stadium went silent as the 29-year-old battled for life. As soon as Eriksen collapsed, his teammates gathered around him and the medical team, in a bid to shield him from cameras. What followed was 15 minutes of extreme anxiety, as the medics worked hard to revive the midfielder. Soon, he was stretchered off the field and shifted to the hospital, where he is out of danger and recovering as per official sources.

Throughout this time, the world of social media filled up with prayers and supportive messages for Christian Eriksen. Supporters, players, football clubs and national teams, football administrators and more took to Twitter and other social media platforms to extend their best wishes to the Inter Milan player.
