UEFA Euro 2020 is fast-approaching as the season of club football is reaching its conclusion. The tournament, being held at a later date than intended, will house some of the strongest national teams in the world. 

Additionally, respective participating nations have been busy with announcing their squads that will compete in the tournament in the past few days. The viewers will get a closer look at some of the upcoming talents from these teams.

The Euros are a great platform for these young players to make a mark and announce their arrival on the big stage. As the start of the tournament approaches, here is a look at the top-10 youngsters to look out for:

Jeremy Doku

Jeremy Doku’s inclusion into Belgium's Euro 2020 squad is a great reward for the youngster. The 18-year-old winger is one of the most gifted prospects and impressive teenagers in Europe. Jeremy plays for Stade Rennais FC in the French Ligue 1 and has 11 goal contributions (four goals, seven assists) this season.

Donyell Malen

Donyell Malen is one of Netherland’s most-promising upcoming forwards. The center-forward is a prolific goalscorer and has represented Arsenal FC’s developmental sides before signing for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie. The 22-year-old will be crucial to Netherlands’ Euro 2020 challenge and will look to add to the 27 goals and 10 assists he has made this season. 

Phil Foden

Phil Foden has been instrumental for Manchester City this year. The young Englishman has finally showcased his real potential this term, scoring crucial goals when needed the most. He has shone in a team full of superstars. The 20-year-old has scored 15 goals and assisted further 10 thus having a hugely impressive season. 

Dejan Kulusevski

Dejan Kulusevski will be the most lethal operator in Sweden’s ranks. The 21-year-old highly-rated attacker has represented the national team 11 times already. The winger plays for Juventus FC in the Serie A and recently scored a crucial goal that enabled the Old Lady to lift the Coppa Italia. Kulusevski will shoulder the majority of goalscoring responsibility with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to miss the tournament. 

Alexander Isak

Sweden has another exceptional young attacker among their ranks. Their forward Alexander Isak has impressed this term for Real Sociedad. The 21-year-old has scored 16 goals in the La Liga for the team, helping them to a strong finish in the standings. Isak will be under the focus as many clubs across Europe are vying for his signature. 

Mason Mount

Mason Mount has been impressive for Chelsea FC across all competitions. The young attacking midfielder has silenced the critics that doubted his involvement with the Blues and has become indispensable for Thomas Tuchel’s side. Thus, England will heavily depend on Mount’s creative output as Gareth Southgate tends to follow a pragmatic approach. 

Dominik Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai will be central to Hungary’s plans for the Euro 2020. The outfit will be underdogs after being grouped with the likes of France, Germany and Portugal. The attacking midfielder signed for German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in January 2021. The 20-year-old impressed everyone with his performances in the UEFA Champions League. He managed nine goals and 11 assists in 22 overall appearances for RB Salzburg. 

Joao Felix

Joao Felix is now a well-established name in European football. However, the Portuguese forward is still very young and has a ton of potential to unlock. Joa Felix joined Atletico Madrid in 2019 when the La Liga outfit paid €127.20m for his services. The 21-year-old is pegged as one of the stars of tomorrow and will spearhead Portugal’s terrifying attacking force which includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Jota. 

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has had a topsy-turvy first season at Chelsea FC since signing from Bayer Leverkusen. However, the 21-year-old attacker has slowly found his rhythm as the season went on and managed a few goal contributions as well. The youngster will hope to add to the eight goals and nine assists this term and guide Germany through a tough group. 

Ferran Torres

Ferran Torres has been clinical for Manchester City whenever called into action. The Spaniard recently scored an impressive hattrick against Newcastle United in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has six goals in 10 appearances for the Spanish national team. Torres will most-definitely play a major role in Spain’s challenge at the Euros 2020.
