There has been enough movement already in the transfer market and English clubs are showing the way in terms of splurging the moolah.
The European league season is less than a month away, as clubs all around the world have started working hard in pre-season and on completing some signings before the season gets underway. The big signings keep on coming as clubs from all around Europe are splashing the cash in order to make sure that they can fight in various competitions.
The English Premier League Clubs are working really hard to build stronger squads and there were some stunning transfers which took place this week. The biggest one probably came from London where defending champions Chelsea completed the signing of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid for a reported fee upwards of £70 million with add-ons.
Chelsea finally showed intent in the market by signing a high-profile striker as there seems to be no future for want-away hitman Diego Costa. Meanwhile, Manchester City continued their spending spree as they completed the signature of Real Madrid right-back Danilo for an estimated fee of £26.5million, with the Brazilian joining Kyle Walker as their second signed defender of the window. The blue side of Manchester has also got the powerful Benjamin Mendy from Monaco, for a record bid of £52m.
West Ham United also popped up with some surprising signings this week when they announced the signature of Joe Hart on a loan from Manchester City, as well as that off Marko Arnautovic for a club record fee of £25 million. The Hammers weren’t done there, as they also announced agreeing on a fee with Bayer Leverkusen for Javier Hernandez and these deals have propelled Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to label them as “‘Title Contenders’ for the upcoming season.
Liverpool also made the surprise signing of Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson for £9 million while Stoke signed Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on a season-long loan. Promoted side Newcastle United also splurged the cash to bring in two players in Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee as well as attacker Jacob Murphy from Norwich City.
Italian Champions Juventus were back in business in the transfer market after losing Leonardo Bonucci earlier this month, as they completed the signing of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for around €12 million. They further bolstered their defence by signing Mattia De Sciglio from AC Milan at around €12 million. AS Roma completed their 7th signing of the season by signing Aleksander Kolarov for €5 million from Manchester City.
