FC Basel vs Barcelona: Full lineups confirmed for pre-season friendly

Barca have welcomed many stars from the World Cup.
Barcelona will make the trip to Switzerland to play FC Basel in a pre-season match at St. Jakob-Park. The match takes place at a strange point in Barcaโs preparations because Hansi Flickโs team will play Elche in the first game of the 2026โ2027 LaLiga season in only one week.
With a tie against Birmingham City and a close loss to Udinese, Barcelona have won two of their four preseason games.
The return of several Barcelona players who competed in the World Cup 2026 is the biggest change. Jules Kounde, Eric Garcรญa, Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, and Dani Olmo are returning to the squad and travelling to Switzerland.
Pedri and Gavi are the two most prominent absentees. Gavi and Pedri are on a customised preseason training. Roony Bardghji and Frenkie de Jong are sidelined; Bardghjiโs ACL was torn.
Another player to keep an eye on is Anthony Gordon, who joined Barcelonaโs preseason squad after his summer vacation. Given that Ferran Torres has joined Paris Saint-Germain, Gordon might be given an opportunity in a more advanced offensive role.
Barcelona have rotated their lineup, and Flick has given some of his returning World Cup players more playing time to prepare for the game. Most of them would be coming off the bench against Basel.
