FC Pune City suffered a massive blow ahead of their Indian Super League campaign as their marquee signing in Icelander Eidur Gudjohnsen has been ruled out of the season owing to an injury sustained during the pre-season in Madrid. The former Chelsea and Barcelona forward was not found training with the squad and did not participate in their practice match against Ozone FC earlier this week. It is learnt that the Iceland international who has just turned 38 earlier this month will head back home in order to complete his rehabilitation. FC Pune City are on the lookout for a replacement ahead of their opening fixture against Mumbai City FC on 3 October at Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune and it seems that they will sign a replacement soon.Report by Khel Now Correspondent Rony.
