FIFA 21: Five players with most notable upgrades in their ratings
A few youngsters have received a massive boost in their overall stats.
FIFA 21 is about to be released by Electronic Arts on 6th October 2020. The newest instalment in the long-running franchise of games will be the first edition that will release on the next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X along with current generation consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One series.
With the release coming closer every day, people at EA have started to build up the hype around the game by teasing player ratings in FIFA 21. The rating reveal has generated a lot of discussion among the fans and players alike. While some players have been downgraded in ratings due to a disappointing previous campaign, some young players who had breakthrough campaigns have received a deserved boost in their overall points.
Below are five of the most notable upgrades in FIFA 21 from FIFA 20. These are the players who are the future of football and are now slowly showing their hidden potential. These players are young and absolute must-haves in the Career Mode.
5. Alphonso Davies - 81 from 72
Unsurprisingly, Alphonso Davies is one of the biggest gainers in FIFA 21 after a stellar season with FC Bayern Munich. The Canadian burst onto the season last year and mesmerised everyone with his pace and breathtaking wing play. The 19-year-old was crucial in FCB’s road to victory in the UEFA Champions League as well.
A gain of nine overall points will see the Canadian breach the 80-mark and will become an 81-rated left-back. It would be hard to argue against the fact that he will surely pick from where he left off next season and will probably gain more overall points in seasons to come.
4. Bukayo Saka - 75 from 65
Another 19-year-old that burst onto the scene was Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. The young full-back impressed all sets of fans with his brilliant attacking intent and crossing ability. The Englishman had five assists and one goal in 26 appearances for the Gunners in a highly successful individual season.
Saka narrowly missed out on a national team call-up but his growth has been captured by EA, who have given him an upgrade of 10 overall points, taking him from 65 to 75. Interestingly, he has been registered as a left-midfielder after starting majorly in the left-back role initially. A tasty proposition in the career mode.
3. Mason Greenwood - 77 from 67
Manchester United FC are famous for producing sensational talents from their fabled academy. Mason Greenwood is the next academy product in line, who has had a breakthrough last season and quickly became one of the first names in the starting lineup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who hailed him as “one of the best finishers he’s ever seen.”
The Englishman scored a massive 16 goals and two assists in all competitions. He recently earned a call-up to the senior England squad due to his performances and has also received a 10-point boost in his overall ratings in FIFA 21.
2. Erling Haaland - 84 from 73
Borussia Dortmund signed one of the brightest talents in European football in Erling Haaland and the Norwegian started off his career for the Bundesliga side firing on all cylinders. In his debut campaign for them, Haaland managed 16 goals and two assists in 18 games in all competitions.
Prior to his January transfer window move, Haaland had netted 29 goals in 27 outings for RB Salzburg and also won the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup Golden Boot after scoring nine in his country's 12-0 demolition of Honduras. An upgrade in FIFA 21 was expected, and the 20-year-old will receive a 11-points boost, taking his overall to 84.
1. Dejan Kulusevski - 77 from 64
The biggest upgrade in terms of points for a notable figure goes to Dejan Kulusevski of Juventus. People who follow Italian Serie-A will know the huge potential the winger has and the huge steps he has taken in the last campaign in his growth as a player.
The 20-year-old is a regular in the Swedish national team and featured 36 times for the Old Lady in the Serie-A. The winger managed 10 goals and eight assists in his breakthrough season and has established himself as one of the hottest young talents in Europe. Kulusevski has been awarded a massive 13-point upgrade on his FIFA 21 card, taking his overall rating to 77 from 64.
