Bangladesh announce 23-member squad for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026
The Bengal Tigers replaced India in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Bangladesh National Football Team has officially announced their 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, as it will mark the inaugural edition of the tournament, which is ready to be hosted by Indonesia, as the games are set to begin on 24th September 2026 and conclude on 5th October.
The squad of the Bengal Tigers features some great names after they have been drawn alongside Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore in Division 1, Group A, as the team has the blend of experience and also the youth potential to prove their worth at the world level.
Among the notable inclusions in the team are Farhaan Ali Wahid, who played for Boreham Wood FC, Shuki Itofusa for Fortis FC and Zidane Alexander Yousuf, who is currently a free agent, as the trio could add more versatility and strength to the team ahead of the new campaign.
Bangladesh replaced the Indian Men’s National Football Team after the Blue Tigers withdrew their name from participation, and the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) accepted the invitation they got from Indonesia. The Blue Tigers retreated their name from the inaugural edition of the tournament after they had a scheduling conflict with their clash against Brazil at Salt Lake Stadium on 3rd October, 2026, as AIFF prioritised the friendly clash over the tournament.
