In a repeat of the senior World Cup semi-final of 2014 these two teams meet with the Brazilians hoping to turn the tables in youth football.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup is moving into overdrive as the mouthwatering quarterfinal fixture between Brazil and Germany is all set to take place at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Sunday. It's going to be a grudge match with the Brazilians looking to  avenge the humiliation three years ago at senior level, while the Germans looked extremely strong in their demolition of Colombia. In the other match, Spain take on Asian heavyweights Iran in what is also set to be a really enticing encounter.

Match 2: Germany Vs Brazil

Brazil and Germany have both looked very impressive recently as they convincingly made it out of their groups, before breezing past their opponents in the Round of 16. But at will be a rather personal encounter at Kolkata on Sunday, with these footballing giants playing for pride and especially the Selecao looking to demolish their European counterparts for the humiliation suffered by their senior team in 2014.

It's going to be a very open game as both the teams have shown themselves to be attacking sides and a win could give either side confidence to go all the way in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Brazil have looked rather comfortable throughout the tournament, so it's going to be an intriguing contest to look how Germany can threaten them and which team can come out on top to book a place in the semi-finals.

Team News.

Germany's forward Dennis Jastrzembski will miss the match against Brazil as he picked up a second yellow card of the tournament which ruled him out of the quarter-finals. He should be replaced by Maurice Malone, who came on as a substitute in the thrashing of Colombia. But the Germans will probably play only Arp as the lone striker, bringing in midfielder Erik Majetschak to give more legs to the midfield.

The South American giants do not have any suspension from their previous game and will probably go with the same side which got a dominating 3-0 win over Honduras in the Round of 16. They will have to play with more intent and creativity to get past the stubborn German defense, but knowing how much pumped up they are for the game, one can expect them to give their best showing.

Head To Head.

This is the first meeting between the sides in U-17 competition level.

Man To Watch.

John Yeboah-Germany: While almost everyone will keep their eyes peeled to the game of German captain Jann-Fiete Arp, one player who shined in their 4-0 demolishing of Colombia was their prolific winger John Yeboah. He was running riot on his wing as he created many chances for the Germans and got his much-deserved goal as well in the first half. The electric, skilfull winger was too hot to handle for Colombia and will look to recreate that magic against a superior South American team in Brazil, against whom Yeboah will have to be at his most clinical form.

Paulinho-Brazil: Arguably the most artistic player for the Brazilian team in the U-17 World Cup, Paulinho has had quite the terrific tournament for the Selecao so far with two goals and two assists for the South American giants. His unpredictable movement and immaculate creativity makes him a terror for opposing defenses and knowing how brilliantly he played against a European giant like Spain on Matchday one, he'll definitely be a man to keep an eye on Sunday and could play a decisive part for Brazil's triumph.

Probable Lineups

Germany U-17: Plogmann, Nitzl, Becker, Mai, Bisseck, Keital, Abouchabaka, Majetschak, Yeboah, Cetin, Arp.

Brazil U-17: Gabriel Brazao, Wesley, Vitao, Halter, Weverson, Bobsin, Alan, Antonio, Paulinho, Brenner, Lincoln.
