FIFA unveil championship rings for World Cup winners ahead of historic Spain vs Argentina final

They are now notably following some American sports!

The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup is in its final phase. The high-stakes clash is all set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, on July 19. The Argentina national football team will lock horns with the Spain national football team in what is going to be an entertaining contest to watch.

Winning the biggest prize in football is not an easy task. You have to stay consistent throughout the campaign so that you can outplay your opponents to clinch that World Cup crown.

Brazil remains the nation with the most FIFA World Cup titles (5). Italy and Germany are four-time winners. Argentina, with a win in the upcoming World Cup final, can clinch their fourth title. If Spain win, they will be known as the two-time world champions.

La Albiceleste’s journey in the ongoing campaign of the mega competition was not as difficult as that of La Roja. Nonetheless, both of the teams are ready to give their all in what is going to be a winner-takes-it-all contest.

Special championship rings by FIFA

This year, the winners of the FIFA World Cup final are all set to receive special championship rings for the first time in history. They are notably following some American sports like the NFL’s Super Bowl and the NBA Championship.

A total of 30 rings will be made available to the world champions, with a further 1,996 rings going on sale to fans.

These special rings will be awarded alongside the usual gold World Cup trophy, with the prize money of US $50 million to the winners. It is either going to be Spain or Argentina. The runner-up is all set to receive US $33 million.

FIFA mentioned, “Immediately after the final, the captain and head coach of the winning team will receive temporary rings to commemorate the occasion. Each of the 30 rings for the winners will then be customised before being officially presented at a later date, ensuring the perfect lifelong fit for an achievement that will echo through eternity.”

The third-place contest is all set to take place between France and England. The winner of this fixture is all set to receive US $29 million and the nation finishing fourth will get US $27 million.
