Singapore, currently ranked 156th globally, displayed fantastic skills to stop China’s winning streak.

In a thrilling encounter at the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the footballing world witnessed an unexpected turn of events as China were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw by Singapore. The match played in an electrifying atmosphere at the National Stadium in Singapore, showcased an enthralling display of skill, determination, and resilience from both sides.

Singapore Lions, under their newly appointed head coach Tsutomu Ogura, performed superbly against the Chinese army and bagged a 2-2 draw in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Although there will be no changes in their rankings in the table, playing out a draw against an 88th-ranked team will surely boost Singapore’s confidence.

The second half continued to deliver end-to-end action as Singapore poised for a comeback. Singapore fought for every ball and finally secured their first goal in the 53rd minute. Faris Ramli put the ball into the net for the Singapore Lions who gained a lot of confidence. The match was pretty exciting with China trying to seal the winner. But, Singapore pulled off a miraculous comeback as Jacob Mahler restored parity in the 81st minute, making it 2-2 for the hosts.

The thrilling encounter serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of football and highlights the growing competitiveness within the Asian footballing landscape.
