England have picked up the most yellow cards with fewer fouls.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is now nearing an end. Fans are now set for the quarter-finals after the last game of the round of 16 saw Switzerland beat Colombia on penalties. That game set up a meeting with Argentina in the quarters.

Before the quarter-finals, each team that has qualified for the last eight have been booked many times.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinalists, however, have earned cards at varied rates. England average one card for every seven fouls. Meanwhile, Argentina receive one card for every 22 fouls.

Players must be cautious with their foul counts, since accumulation regulations apply. If a player receives two yellow cards, they will incur a one-game ban.

However, the FIFA World Cup regulations provide for a disciplinary reset following the quarterfinals. It means that no one will have a yellow card to carry in the semifinals.

For the current competition, data tracking shows the following rates for teams that reach the quarterfinals.
