FIFA World Cup 2026 updated bracket after Mexico vs Ecuador in Round of 32

Mexico become the second co-host nation to reach the round of 16.
Co-host nation Mexico triumphed convincingly in their FIFA World Cup 2026 round of 32 fixture against Ecuador. They beat the South American giants 2-0 to secure their easy passage to the round of 16.
It didn’t take them enough time to find the breakthrough. Julian Quinones slotted the ball to give the co-host a lead in an intense game. With Ecuador continuing to test Mexico’s defence, El Tri managed to remain rock solid at the back.
Despite their efforts, the South American giants couldn’t find the back of the net. Then, Mexico further extended their lead through veteran Raul Jimenez.
Moreover, Mexico also continued their excellent defensive form in the FIFA World Cup 2026. They recorded their fourth clean sheet of the tournament.
