FIFA World Cup 2026 updated bracket after Portugal vs Croatia in Round of 32
The Round of 32 stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will end on July 3.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is inching towards the Round of 16 stage, where 12 teams have sealed their places. Portugal became the latest team to book their spot in the last 16. They did so with a dramatic 2-1 win over Croatia in their Round of 32 clash at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, on July 2.
The Vatreni took the lead soon after the restart when Ivan Perisic scored with a fine finish into the bottom corner. However, a foul by Nikola Vlasic on Renato Veiga in the box resulted in the Selecao das Quinas being awarded a penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo dispatched it into the back of the net.
Just when the match looked destined for extra time, substitute Goncalo Ramos grabbed a late winner deep in stoppage time with a header past Dominik Livakovic. The goal sealed Portugal’s place in the Round of 16. A late goal from Croatia was also ruled out for offside.
