The Premier League is one of the most competitive football leagues in the world. Since its inception in 1993-94, the league has seen several legendary footballers play in it. The English top division’s rebranding into the Premier League was a major step in English football which has become a global powerhouse in football today.

In terms of the financial strength of the football teams, the Premier League leads others by a big margin. Each team in the division is capable of attracting top talent and has done so for many years. As a result, only the best of the best ply their trade in the league and create goalscoring benchmarks every other year.

Having a lot of goal involvement is a sign of a player’s attacking prowess. Being able to score and create scoring opportunities for teammates is a hallmark of a world class footballer. Below are five players that have the most goal involvement in a single Premier League season:

5. Mohamed Salah - 42

Liverpool FC’s Mohamed Salah recorded 42 goal involvements during the 2017-18 season. He scored 32 goals and won the golden boot in his first Premier League season with the Reds. On top of that, the Egyptian also had 10 assists.

Since joining the club in 2017, Salah has helped Liverpool win a Premier League title after multiple decades. Furthermore, the winger also helped the team win the UEFA Champions League for a sixth time.

Interestingly, he could only play 33 matches after serving a ban and did not score any goal from the penalty spot. Adding to his 31 goals, Suarez provided 12 assists too.

That particular season is famous for Liverpool’s debacle in the final few games of the season. The title went towards Manchester City’s way and Suarez’s individual effort was not enough to hand the title to the Reds.

3. Thierry Henry - 44

Arsenal club legend Thierry Henry holds the second-highest tally in terms of most goal involvements in a single Premier League season. The Frenchman made 44 goal contributions during the 2002-03 season. Surprisingly, Henry did not win the golden boot with 24 goals during that season. Ruud Van Nistelrooy had 25 goals for Manchester United.

However, Thierry Henry created the Premier League record for most assists in a single season. He provided 20 assists, a feat which still stands today. Furthermore, he became the first and only player to score and assist 20+ times each in a single league campaign.
