Five reasons why Kylian Mbappe should leave Paris Saint-Germain
The prodigal forward could be on his way out of the French capital this summer.
Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world without a doubt. Since his emergence in 2016, the Frenchman has become arguably the best young player in the world. He also became the second-most expensive transfer in history when he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2017.
Mbappe has scored 106 goals in over 120 appearances for the Parisien club and has won every trophy domestically. Now, he is already being courted by the biggest clubs on the planet. Despite his obvious success at PSG, there are calls for him to move elsewhere.
Today, we will look at five reasons why the French winger should leave the club.
5. Final year of his contract
Mbappe's contract expires in 2022 and that could mean that he could leave on a free next summer. For PSG, that could be catastrophic for they forked out almost €180 million to purchase him in 2017.
Mbappe has also been stalling on signing a new contract. Hence, it would be best for both parties to part ways this summer instead of a free transfer next summer.
4. Better quality of competition
The Ligue 1 has no dearth of quality and potential. But it isn't considered on an equal pedestal with its peer leagues in terms of competition. PSG have made this evident through their domination of the domestic circuit and their financial might.
Kylian Mbappe certainly has world-class potential. But, if he showcases his skills and potential in more competitive leagues, then he can truly become world-class. Mbappe will possibly look to emulate the feats of his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, by proving his mettle in multiple leagues in the future.
3. Play with a settled squad
Mbappe has shone for Paris in his time there. But he has had to go through constant change in management and therefore different philosophies as well. Paris have always been a work-in-progress team with constant changes in personnel around Mbappe.
Therefore, the prospect of playing with a squad with more settled players like Real Madrid would be appealing to him. Also the prospect of working with Zinedine Zidane would be a dream for the young Frenchman.
2. Win the UEFA Champions League
Mbappe joined PSG in 2017 with the joy of returning to his home city and be part of a squad capable of winning the Champions League. Le Parisien are yet to get their hands on the UEFA Champions League which has been the reason for such huge investments in the squad. Last season, they lost closely in the final to Bayern and this time Manchester City got the better of them.
It seems that time is running out for Mbappe to win the Champions League with PSG. He could hence turn to other clubs who are better equipped for him to win the trophy.

1. To forge his own legacy
Kylian Mbappe is one of the best in the world despite his age. But, if he has to become among the best ever, he has to have a team that plays around him. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi had exactly that which has made them legends of the game.
Similarly for Mbappe, he would want to have a team where he is the main guy. The time has come for him to step out of the partnership with Neymar and carve his own niche elsewhere. He has made his name so far for France and Paris, but proving himself elsewhere would further accentuate his status among the best to play the game.
