JSW Sports becomes the Principal Partner of Football Delhi
The state association launched the Centre of Excellence for girls in May this year.
Football Delhi and JSW Sports announced a partnership today in New Delhi's Constitution Club, for the improvement and development of football in the Indian capital. The company will now be the Principal Partner of Football Delhi. Parth Jindal, Managing Director JSW Cement and Director of JSW Sports, announced the partnership during a press conference.
He said, "We are proud to partner with Football Delhi. We all know that football in Delhi has a glorious past, but steps have to be taken to improve the game in the capital. We are confident that the able leadership of Football Delhi will ensure that football takes giant strides in the years to come."
He also mentioned the connection between his organisation and Football Delhi, which points towards Sunil Chhetri, as he had played in Delhi earlier. Now, he plies his trade with JSW Group-owned Bengaluru FC.
Delhi football's governing body has already announced some initiatives this year. The Delhi FA launched the Centre of Excellence for girls on 4th May 2018 and the Golden League (U-9s and U-11s) on 15th July 2018 respectively. Now, this partnership with the JSW Group could be a huge boost for the association.
