Goa Pro League: GFA to set up committee to investigate match fixing
The five-member committee will be headed by a retired judge.
The Goa Football Association (GFA) has decided to go ahead with the setting up of a 5-member committee headed by a Retired Judge to investigate the red flagged matches of Goa Pro League involving seven teams concerning six league matches held from 16th October to 19th November, 2019 based on the AFC Report that “there was suspicious betting patterns indicative of match manipulation.”
Mr. Churchill Alemao disclosed that the decision to appoint the Investigation Committee had the approval of the Executive Committee which decided the matter via circulation.

The proposal put up by the President was backed up by Senior Vice President Mr. Lavinio Rebello, Vice President Mr.Anthony Pango, members, Mr. Dionizio Dias, Mr.Dominic Pereira, Mr.Gregory D’Souza, Mr.John Fernandes, Mr. Mauricio Almeida, Mr. Franciso Nunes, Mr.John Silva, Mr. Cosme Oliveira, Mr.Jaju Fernandes, Mr. Jose Santarita Coelho (Babush). Some of them suggested that a Police Complaint also be lodged.
Mr. Babli Mandrekar, Mr. Jonathan de Souza, Mr. Prakash Dessai were in favor of filing the complaint with the Police Crime Branch while Mr. Welvin Menezes was for filing complaint with police followed by internal investigation which is to be presented to Police.
