The Golden Eagles have now moved to the second position in the standings.

Dempo SC ensured full points following their comfortable 3-0 win over Sesa FA in the Goa Professional League at Sirsaim ground, on Thursday. Beevan D’Mello (20’), Suraj Hadkonkar (52’) and Joaquim Abranches (68’) were the scorers for the Golden Eagles.

By virtue of this result, Dempo SC move to 37 points from 19 matches in second position, behind leaders Sporting Clube de Goa who are also on 37 points, due to inferior goal difference, having played two games less than the Golden Eagles.

Meanwhile Sesa FA are just three points above bottom-placed Velsao SCC, with 15 points having played 16 matches.

Though there some good exchange of play, Sesa FA were first to test their opponents when Shajam P tried his luck with a powerful left foot shot which was dealt by Dempo SC custodian Luis Barreto.

Sesa FA continued to dominate possession and had couple of more chances but Kunal Salgaonkar came closest from scoring, but his effort narrowly missed the mark. At the other end, Dempo SC took the lead when Rajat Harijan initiated a move from the midfield and played a long delivery to Ariston Costa, who laid a perfect pass to Beevan for a simple tap in, 1-0.
