GPL 2019-20: Guardian Angel cruise past Velsao to three points

A strong second half display enabled Guardian Angel Sports Club to register a 3-1 win over Velsao Sports & Cultural Club in the Goa Professional League match played at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Friday.
Yakubu Mohammed (63', 76') scored a brace for the winners while second half substitute Agnelo Colaco (89') added the third for the winners. Bersal Viegas (31') had scored for Velsao SCC in the first half.
[KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Velsao SCC who are still unsafe from relegation, started the match on the attacking front from the word go but had to wait untill half hour mark before they took the lead from a well executed corner kick.
Velsao's Inacio Colaco played a perfect delivery in the box for Bersal Viegas, who made his run to brilliantly connect to volley home, 1-0. Bersal was in thick of action once again, but Guardian Angel SC keeper Pratheesh Vadakke denied the lad.
In the second half, it was a different story as Guardian Angel SC put up a brave fight and soon restored parity at the hour mark when Beneston Barreto played a cut back pass to Ghanian Yakubu, who slammed from close range, 1-1.
Guardian Angel SC were soon ahead in the game as Velsao faltered to the constant pressure from the Curchorem side. Yakubu made himself some space before unleashing a powerful strike from inside the box from the left to score his brace and put his side in commanding position.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Squandering their 1-0 lead, Velsao went all out in the final ten minutes of the game in search of the equalising goal but had to suffer in this bargain as second half subsitute Agnelo Colaco scored to take the game beyond Velsao's reach.
Beneston was instrumental in the goal as he broke the Velsao SCC defence and played another cut back pass to Agnelo who kept his composure and scored the team's third goal.
