Odugwu scored a brace in the Flaming Oranje's resounding success.
Sporting Clube de Goa consolidated their lead at the top with an easy 3-0 win over Calangute Association in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium on Monday. Odugwu (12’ & 29’) scored a brace for the Flaming Oranje while Marcus Mascarenhas (3’) netted the other goal for the winning team. Sporting Clube de Goa didn’t wait long before taking the lead as early as in third minute when Stendly Fernandes initiated the move from the midfield and they played in across Brandon on the right flank, who crossed in the box to Marcus, who scored with a simple tap in to put his side ahead in the game. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Sporting Clube played attacking game with Dattaraj and Stendly tormenting the rivals with their pace and in once such instance the Flaming Oranje almost doubled the account when Dattaraj set up Philip on goal, but the Nigerian shot straight to the keeper Sanij Bugde. However, in the 12th minute, Philip doubled the account when Dattaraj dribbled past couple of Calangute players and set up the Nigerian, who scored with a strong right foot giving no chance for the rival keeper. Sporting Clube created plenty of chances but couldn’t score but at half hour mark, Sporting Clube inflated the tally when George crossed the ball in the box which was nodded in by Philip. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="RELATED NEWS | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Calangute Association had a rare chance just before the breather when Dalesh Pednekar passed to Domnic upfront but his shot went wide with just the keeper at his mercy. In the second half it was more about missed chances as both sides failed to score any goals. Sporting Clube’s Alton almost scored the fourth when he dribbled past entire Calangute defence and with only the keeper, shot straight into the keeper’s hands. At the other end, Sporting keeper Akshat came with a double save to deny Domnic from close range.Latest News
