Harry Kane set for special Bayern Munich welcome after Ballon d'Or win

The 33-year-old became the first Bundesliga player to win the Ballon d’Or since 1996.
After defying all odds, Harry Kane has secured the Ballon d’Or 2026. He was quite phenomenal for Bayern Munich and England during the 2025-26 season, scoring an astonishing 73 goals for club and country.
The Englishman was up against stars like Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal, but in the end it was his night to cherish. With this, Kane ended the Ballon d’Or drought for Bayern Munich, becoming the first player to win the coveted trophy for the first time in 45 years while representing the club.
Kane also went on to win the Gerd Müller Trophy after his sensational performances for both his club and country in the attacking front.
Following the ceremony at the London Palladium Theatre on Monday, Bayern president Herbert Hainer congratulated him.
“This is a proud day for FC Bayern. Harry Kane can do it all – and he scores goals, goals and more goals. He now joins a line with Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge – that says everything about our history,” Hainer said.

Kane will be given a special welcome by FC Bayern, together with the fans, before the DFB Pokal match against 1. FC Magdeburg on Wednesday, October 28, at Allianz Arena. The 33-year-old will be honoured again at the Bundesliga top-of-the-table clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, October 31.
He displayed stunning performances during the 2025-26 campaign, and this is what led him to clinch the Ballon d’Or 2026 award.
“Harry is a great guy, you very rarely come across someone like him: world-class yet so down-to-earth,” sporting director Christoph Freund said.
“Harry has taken the centre-forward role to a whole new level – he’s an inspiration, especially for young players. He’s undoubtedly one of the greatest in football history.”
