The Argentina great also believes the Inter striker is a better team player than Aguero.

Former Argentina international and La Albiceleste legend Hernan Crespo has revealed that he feels that his compatriot and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez could become the next Sergio Aguero. The 22-year-old is currently being linked with Premier League giants Manchester City.

While Lautaro Martinez had a far from memorable start for the Milan giants, has developed leaps and bounds under Antonio Conte this season. He has also scored 16 goals and assisted another four across all competitions.

The Argentine striker is being chased by Manchester City and FC Barcelona while speculation over his future is rife at the moment.

However, Hernan Crespo believes the Inter Milan star could replicate what Sergio Aguero has done in his career while following his footsteps.

"We know Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala, while we’re getting to see what Lautaro Martinez can do,"  Hernan Crespo told Sky Italia.

"Lautaro could well be the new Sergio Aguero. He’s not as sharp in his dribbling, but he is more of a team player than Kun, who too often gets distracted and looks disinterested," Hernan Crespo added.

"Lautaro is always participating in the move, so he can play as a lone centre-forward or with another striker like Romelu Lukaku, even in a trident."

"I really like his mentality," Hernan Crespo opined.

Other than the 44-year-old, Argentina captain Lionel Messi has also praised the young striker's abilities, calling him a "spectacular player."

Amidst the interests from different European clubs, the agent of Lautaro Martinez has revealed that his client is currently focused with his role at Inter.

"He treats it [the speculation] as if it is nothing, because he is only focused on his club."

"But surely there is great satisfaction knowing that he is doing things well," he added.

"Lautaro has a five-year contract with Inter and the news that comes out is exclusively generated by the press," his agent concluded.
