Hugh Jackman in talks to buy stake in EFL Championship club Norwich City
Jackman has revealed he is a big fan of Norwich.
Hugh Jackman has disclosed that he is again engaged in discussions to purchase a share in EFL Championship club Norwich City, pitting him against Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, who owns Wrexham.
Australian actor Jackman, a Canaries supporter whose mother is from Norwich, is a close companion with fellow actor Reynolds. He told talkSPORT they might soon be Championship rivals.
In 2023, Jackman attended Wrexham alongside Deadpool and Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds. The latter shares ownership of the Welsh club alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

Wrexham have advanced from the National League to the Championship during the duo’s ownership, with three consecutive promotions between 2022 and 2025. They are currently hoping to go up to the Premier League.
“I’m very, very interested – and talking about it right now,” Jackman said when asked if he could get involved in English football. “Good on Ryan, you do your thing, (but) I’m all about the Canaries.”
Jackman added: “I went to Carrow Road a couple of times, and I love the Canaries, and this is the year we’re going to get promoted. That’s my prediction.”
Sydney-born Jackman, 57, previously claimed that he was offered the option to invest in Norwich in 2010, but declined.
Speaking in 2011, he stated:
“Sometimes I make big mistakes. I got a letter about a year ago saying, being such a huge Norwich City fan would I like to be a celebrity investor? Like a small part-owner.”
“I said, I think that’s a little stretched, I’ve been to Carrow Road once, my mum took me,” so I decided not to invest. And since then they’re on a run, so what do I know?”
