India take on UAE in the tournament opener of the AFC Asian Under-16 Championship in Goa tomorrow andHead Coach Nicolai Adam said his side were excited to finally get playing. Adam stated that he was happy with his side’s preparation in the lead up to the event. “We have spent almost three months in Europe, most of the time in Germany and Norway. We have played all together 19 matches, mostly successful,” he pointed out. The German emphasised that although they had direct entry to next year’s Under-17 FIFA World Cup as hosts the aim was to qualify for the extravaganza on merit by making it to the last four in the continental competition. On being asked what kind of game he was expecting against the Gulf side Adam said he was hoping for a good match. “We take them (UAE) seriously. They take us seriously. I hope to see a good match between both the teams.” He further added, “Nobody is in the position to say that they will win this match. Especially youth football matches are open. We look from match to match. Tomorrow we play the UAE and we are prepared for that.”Report by Khel Now Correspondent Ravish Narvekar from Goa . A true Football enthusiast & a die hard Liverpool fan.
