Chennai City are realistically in for a top-four finish next season- Rohit Ramesh

The club owner was speaking after the acquisition of the team's fifth foreigner for the upcoming season.
Enroute to next season, I-League outfit Chennai City announced their fifth foreign signing in the form of Australian goalkeeper Jerrad Tyson. The Aussie shot-stopper joins the Tamil Nadu top-flight club from Southern Melbourne FC and is expected to finally end to their drought of clean-sheets.
The custodian brings prior of experience playing in the A-League. The 28-year-old has also played in the Asian Champions League during his time in Australia. In a career where he spent most of the time as a backup, Tyson still managed to register 27 clean-sheets in 76 appearances.
"We had some issues in the back which we wanted to rectify, " said Chennai City FC owner Rohit Ramesh as he spoke about his team's newest foreign recruit. In what turned out to be a disappointing season, Chennai City FC struggled to avoid conceding goals.

"We wanted to strengthen our foreign recruits as our Tamil players did exceptionally well (last season)," said Ramesh as he addressed his team's success in bringing quality foreigners for the upcoming campaign.

Chennai City were the only I-League team last season to have a foreign goalkeeper. However, with the expertise of Tyson, they finally look like a side with a strong goalkeeper in their midst.
