The highly-rated 22-year-old forward will hope for more playing time in the league next season.
East Bengal starlet Khangembam Bidyashagar Singh has officially joined TRAU FC ahead of the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old showed great quality at the youth levels, which in turn earned him a chance to feature for the Red and Gold Brigade in the Calcutta Football League as well as the Durand Cup last season. There too, Bidyashagar Singh impressed many, being the second-highest goalscorer in the latter tournament with five goals.
Thereafter, the youngster received a breakthrough in the I-League and also registered a goal in 3-1 win against Shillong Lajong. However, shortage of game-time at the club meant Bidyashagar Singh often found himself on the sidelines.
Having appeared five times for East Bengal in the previous season, a move to TRAU FC seems to be a sensible option for him. At the Khuman Lumpak Main Stadium, Bidyashagar Singh will hope to get more playing time to showcase his talent in the upcoming campaign. Interestingly, it comes as a return to his childhood club for the player, who began his journey with the Manipur-based outfit.
TRAU FC have been very active in the ongoing transfer window having roped in several young domestic players. Some of their prominent signings so far include Abdul Salam, Seiminmang Manchong, Naresh Singh, Nongthombam Ronaldo Singh among others.

Bidyashagar Singh being the latest addition to that list, TRAU FC look forward to the next season after faring decently in the previous campaign. With the 3+1 foreigners rule implemented in the I-League from 2020-21, the club made it official that they will emphasize more on promoting local talent.
That said, it would be interesting to watch how a relatively young TRAU FC side will take on some of the more experienced squads in the league.
