Mohammedan SC rope in defensive midfielder Milan Singh

The 29-year-old has played over 160 games so far in his club career.
I-League outfit Mohammedan SC have completed the signing of Milan Singh, Khel Now can confirm. The defensive midfielder will join the Black Panthers till the end of the upcoming 2021-22 season.
"Milan Singh has joined Mohammedan SC. He recently agreed terms and signed a contract with the club. The official announcement will be made soon," a source close to the development informed Khel Now.

Milan Singh's career
After featuring for East Bengal, Pailan Arrows and Shillong Lajong in the early years of his career, Milan Singh signed for NorthEast United ahead of the inaugural Indian Super League (ISL) season in 2014. The midfielder shifted base to Delhi Dynamos in 2016 and followed it up with a stint with Kerala Blasters in the 2017-18 season.
Mumbai City came calling the following season and in 2019, he returned to NorthEast United for another stint. In August 2020, SC East Bengal secured his services once again ahead of their debut season in the ISL.
Overall, the 29-year-old had clocked 4650 minutes across 71 ISL games with eight of those appearances came for the Red & Gold Brigade in the 2020-21 season. He has also registered two goals and an assist in the league.
In the I-League, Milan Singh has featured in 87 matches till date. He is well on his way to reach the 100-games mark in the league, something which he will hope to achieve with Mohammedan SC in the 2021-22 season.

Mohammedan SC's pre-season preparations
After a disappointing campaign in I-League 2020-21, the Black Panthers are keen to improve their performance in the forthcoming season. Under their Russian head coach Andrey Chernyshov, the club have already made several key signings.
Stefan Ilic, Shaher Shaheen, Marcus Joseph and Nikola Stojanovic are their four overseas players, while the likes of Zothanmawia, Seiminmang Manchong, Lalramchullova and Malsawmzuala have also joined the Kolkata-based outfit. The addition of Milan Singh will undoubtedly boost their capabilities in the midfield.
