A lifeline for the player

Wayne Vaz has moved around quite a lot in Indian football so far in his career. He first signed for Chennai City during the 2016-17 campaign. He later moved to FC Pune City in the ISL and subsequently played for Churchill Brothers back in the I-League. NorthEast United paved the way for his return to the top flight, by acquiring him ahead of the 2019-20 season of the ISL. Vaz made 10 appearances in his debut season for the Highlanders, clocking 725 minutes of football.

However, the second season was one to forget for the defender. He could not feature in a single game during their 2020-21 ISL campaign, despite being a part of the squad. Now, the move to Mohammedan SC could bring a change in fortunes for him.
