This is third player the club have signed on the final day of the January transfer window.
In the final hours of the deadline day, Rajasthan United FC have completed the signing of Uzbekistan midfielder Sardor Jakhonov. The 25-year-old last played for Kyrgyzstan club FK Kaganat.
"Uzbek attacking midfielder Sardor Jakhonov has completed his move to Rajasthan United on deadline day," a source close to the development informed Khel Now. Jakhonov joins RUFC on a free transfer.
He becomes the third deadline day signing for the I-League club following the signings of Argentine centre-back Mauro dos Santos and Ricky Shabong on loan from ATK Mohun Bagan. The club had also a day earlier announced the arrival of Spanish forward Pedro Manzi from FC Bengaluru United. Jakhonov will be the AFC-quota Asian player at the club.

Jakhonov has spent the major part of his young career playing in Uzbekistan before making the move to Kyrgyz club FK Kaganat last summer. In 12 appearances for the Kyrgyz club, the 25-year-old scored two goals and assisted thrice, his best returns to date. Jakhonov started his career with Qizilqum Zarafshon, which plays in the Uzbekistan Super League, the top-tier football league in the country.
After struggling for gametime there, the young attacking midfielder joined second-division side FC Oqtepa. But was on the move again three months later and signed for the fellow second-division side Xorazm Urganch FC. His next move came in the summer of 2021, when he signed for Kaganat on a free transfer. He has now joined Rajasthan United on another free transfer.

Rajasthan United in January transfer window
With the 2021-22 season of the I-League suspended for at least six weeks, following the bubble breach and multiple cases across teams, Rajasthan United have released a number of players. They sent out Marcelinho on loan to NorthEast United. Another foreigner Komron Tursunov has also left the club and joined Churchill Brothers. Diego Bielkiewicz and Fabiano Alves have also been released. Among the domestic players, former Chennaiyin FC forward Aman Chhetri has moved to Oil India FC.
Rajasthan United had started their I-League 2021-22 campaign with a 0-2 defeat to RoundGlass Punjab FC. The I-League debutants played their opening fixture with only nine players after failing to register new players before the summer window closed. They qualified for the I-League by virtue of winning the I-League qualifiers.
