Robin Singh signs for I-League outfit RoundGlass Punjab

Veteran striker and former India international Robin Singh has signed for RoundGlass Punjab FC. The club announced his arrival as it prepares ahead of the 2021/22 season of the I-League. Kolkata will play hosts to the competition under a strict bio-bubble later this year.
The Punjab-based outfit have added more firepower in their attacking department by signing Robin Singh. The 31-year-old brings a wealth of experience at the club, who are desperate to improve next season. The signing is a statement of intent by the club who is going to challenge for the title.
Robin Singh: The Veteran
Robin Singh has seen it all in Indian football. He has played in the I-League, the Indian Super League and also represented India on the international stage. The striker will return to the I-League, where he has previously played 75 games and scored 19 goals.
The former FC Pune City player will look to revive his career and get back to plying his trade with the big names of Indian football. Singh started his career with East Bengal and then joined Bengaluru FC back in 2013. He played in the ISL with Delhi Dynamos during the 2015 edition and then signed for FC Goa after a couple of years.
His next destination was East Bengal for a few months back in 2017, after which he moved to ATK and then FC Pune City. After transitioning to Hyderabad FC, the forward moved on loan to Real Kashmir in February 2020. He was out of contract after the deal with the Nizams ended in June 2020.
The experienced operator
In addition to the I-League, Singh played 57 games in the ISL, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. He has most prominently played for Bengaluru FC and East Bengal (49 games each). His preferred position is the center-forward, where he uses his frame and target man qualities.
He will lead the attack for RGPFC and aid the development of young players like Ashish Jha and Denzil Kharshandi. Singh will look to team up with other attackers such as Sumeet Passi and Baba Diawara and take the I-League by storm.
As for the club, they will hope Robin Singh can find his goalscoring form. They are looking to add quality players who can help them improve on the fourth place finish last term.
