About the player

Hailing from Manipur, Surchandra Singh started his footballing journey at DSK Shivajians. In the winter transfer window of 2017, Churchill Brothers acquired the services of the midfielder. After spending a few months at the Goan club, Singh shifted his attention to Kolkata. Ahead of the 2017/18 season, the 28-year-old signed for Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan. The following year Singh made a move to Real Kashmir and continued till the end of the season.

In 2019, Surchandra Singh made his Indian Super League debut with Mumbai City. The following year, ISL debutants East Bengal got hold of him. Head coach Robbie Fowler went on to introduce him to a new position, right-wing-back. The club however, didn’t retain the player for the new season. In September, the 28-year-old joined Real Kashmir. He played eight matches for the club in I-League 2021/22 and scored two goals. As a result, Rajasthan United showed interest in hiring him.

Rajasthan United’s preparations for upcoming season

Rajasthan United will be featuring in the upcoming edition of the Durand Cup. They find themselves in Group B alongside ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City, East Bengal and Indian Navy.

Speaking about last season, for the first time the I-League saw a team from Rajasthan. The club ended its campaign in the sixth position. The newcomers won five games, drew seven and lost six. The club will surely want to deliver better performances this time out. The signing of Surchandra Singh might be the first step towards it.
