Their match against Kenkre FC was also forfeited.
The AIFF Disciplinary Committee has decided to forfeit the result of the I-League 2022-23 Match No. 3 between Sudeva Delhi FC and Mumbai Kenkre FC, which has been awarded 3-0 in the latter’s favour. Kenkre Mumbai had originally won the match 2-1.
Ahmed Faiz Khan and Azfar Ashfaque Noorani scored for Kenkre FC, while Basit Ahmed Bhat had scored the only goal for Sudeva. The match took place on November 14 at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi.
Heavy fine imposed on Sudeva Delhi & match forfeited
A fine of Rs. 60,000 has also been imposed on Sudeva Delhi FC by the AIFF Disciplinary Committee for the same. Sudeva Delhi FC violated multiple articles of the ongoing I-League 2022-23 Regulations, which are punishable under Article 57 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code, by fielding an ineligible player during the match.
In the 76th minute of the match, Sudeva Delhi FC replaced an Asian foreign player with a non-Asian foreign player i.e. Ghana and played the rest of the match with four foreigners (no Asian). The players in question here are Tetsuaki Misawa Isaac Essel Kwame, with the latter coming in as a substitute.
The case of fielding ineligible players was referred to the AIFF Disciplinary Committee, after which, the above decision was taken. With the forfeit, the result of the match is changed to Sudeva Delhi FC 0-3 Mumbai Kenkre FC.
While the forfeit does not change the result, it worsens Sudeva Delhi's goal difference. They have already conceded 13 times this I-League 2022-23 season and are yet to register a single point. Kenkre FC, who started their season with the win, have failed to register a second victory.
Both Sudeva Delhi and Kenkre FC find themselves at the bottom last two positions in the points table. Kenkre have seven points after eight matches, while Sudeva Delhi are blank from seven games.
