I-League 2025-26: Sreenidi Deccan FC rope in Togolese defender Hadi Idrissou

The Deccan warriors reinforce their defense ahead of the I-League campaign
Sreenidi Deccan FC have completed the signing of Togolese international defender Hadi Idrissou ahead of the I-League 2025–26 season, as the club continues to strengthen its squad in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
The 24-year-old centre-back brings valuable international exposure and top-flight experience, adding depth and balance to Sreenidi Deccan FC’s defensive unit.
With the club aiming for consistency across the season, Idrissou’s arrival is expected to enhance defensive stability and provide additional options at the back as the Deccan Warriors look to build on their recent performances.
A glance at Hadi Idrissou’s journey

Hadi began his professional football journey in his home country of Togo, rising through the domestic system and showcasing his talent at a young age. His performances caught the attention of scouts abroad, paving the way for the next step in his career.
This led to a move to Morocco, where he joined Difaa El Jadida and competed in the Botola Pro. During his two seasons in Moroccan football, he featured regularly and honed his defensive skills, gaining valuable experience in a physically demanding top-flight league.
Following his stint in Morocco, he took the next step in his career by moving to Europe, signing for FK Bylis in the Albanian Superliga. There, he further developed his game, adapting to a different style of competitive first-division football and testing himself against new challenges.
On the international stage, he represented Togo at the U-23 level, captaining the side and gaining leadership experience in competitive tournaments. Now, he has completed a move to Sreenidi, marking an exciting new chapter in his professional journey.
How can Hadi Idrissou fit into Sreenidi Deccan FC’s system?
From a tactical perspective, the signing of Hadi Idrissou addresses a key area of concern for Sreenidi Deccan FC following last season’s defensive lapses. While the club remained in the title race, moments of poor organisation and transitional defending proved costly. Idrissou’s positional discipline, aerial presence, and ability to read the game are expected to bring greater stability to the backline.
As someone who is comfortable in structured defensive systems and composed in possession, he adds control in build-up phases and leadership at the back qualities that could prove decisive as Sreenidi Deccan FC look to eliminate errors and sustain their push for promotion to the ISL.
Sreenidi Deccan FC has been building a strong squad
Earlier in the transfer window, Sreenidi Deccan FC also announced several additions to the squad ahead of the upcoming season. The club confirmed the signing of defender Mohd Aqib, further strengthening its defensive options, while goalkeeper Bhaskar Roy, defender Abhash Thapa, and midfielder Rashid CK were also brought in as part of the club’s preparations for the new campaign.
These signings reflect Sreenidi Deccan FC’s intent to add depth and balance across all areas of the pitch as they build towards the upcoming season to win the title and aim for their promotion to the Indian Super League.
