I-League 2nd division Game week 4: Neroca FC continues to lead
With the fourth round concluded, the points table looks a lot like how it did the last game week. Neroca FC sits at the top of the table with eight points secured from four games, winning two and drawing two of their matches. Kolkata-based club Southern Samity sits in the second place with seven points. Kenkre FC and Fateh Hyderabad FC are both having five points and are holed up in the third and fourth places respectively. Hailing from the country’s capital, Delhi United is sitting in the fifth position with four points, just a place above from the bottom of the table side Lonestar Kashmir who have only managed to collect two points from the four games they have played until now.

North East outfit Neroca FC thrashed Delhi United with a whopping five goals to nil. Felix Odili Chidi scored a brace while David, Lalbiakzara and Varney all scoring a goal each. This win helped Neroca to keep their momentum as they kept the top spot on the table for themselves.
While the table toppers registered a comfortable win in the last game week, Kolkata outfit Southern Samity was handed a crucial away defeat against Kenkre FC. Two goals from Rohit Mirza and Deepak Tirkey helped the Mumbai-based club defeat the Kolkata-based side as they secured three valuable points against one of the title contenders.
Lonestar Kashmir FC once again displayed a disappointing performance as they lost to Fateh Hyderabad FC at the Trc Turf Ground with a solitary goal. Luis Santos scored the only goal of the match, helping his side win over the J&K based side.
As the fourth round of the 2nd Division I-League is done and dusted with, Neroca FC is being touted as the favourites. However, Kolkata side Southern Samity is having a fine run in their fixtures and the fact that they are positioned just one point behind the table toppers Neroca FC is making the title hunt more interesting. Moreover,

In a rather virtual outcome, one might see Neroca FC joining Aizawl FC and Shillong Lajong FC in the I-League next season or Southern Samity joining Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal in the country’s top-tier football league in the 11th edition of the I-League, with Eastern India almost sure to regain their footballing prominence.
The fifth game week is scheduled to begin on 29th April as Fateh Hyderabad FC will take on Southern Samity at Gachibowli Stadium.
