Hindustan FC hold Delhi United to stalemate, qualify for the final round of 2nd Division I-League

The game was postponed to Monday morning because of a thunderstorm yesterday.

A goalless draw between Hindustan FC and Delhi United in a 2nd Division I- League fixture at the Ambedkar Stadium on Monday saw the former qualify for the final round of the league, to be played later this month.

Hindustan made no changes to their side which won against Delhi Dynamos in the previous fixture. However, Delhi United made one change to their side as their coach named Ladgi Siaka in the lineup.

In the early minutes of the first half, Delhi United player Kouame came close to scoring for his side, but his header was collected by Hindustan keeper Mithun. A few minutes later, Delhi United failed to take the lead as Akshay Pashilkar’s shot went wide.

In the 24th minute Hindustan player Shaheen John missed a chance to get himself onto the score-sheet as the keeper managed to save his shot. The rest of the first half saw both of sides fail to score any goals.

The second half saw both teams roaring for the lead. Delhi United’s Ripudaman came close to scoring, but was denied out by Nitesh Chikara. Then, Delhi United's custodian saved the day once again as he denied Hindustan’s Shaheen John.

In the dying minutes of the game, Hindustan captain Pushpender Kundu came forward to score for his side, but his shot was collected by the opposition shot stopper.

Unfortunately, the score-sheet remained unchanged as both teams split the points after a 0-0 draw.
