The 23-year-old appeared four times for Punjab FC in the previous season of the I-League.
Mohammedan Sporting continue to strengthen their team ahead of the I-League 2nd Division tournament, as the club announced the signing of former Punjab FC midfielder Moinuddin Khan on Monday.
The Black Panthers Youth Development Chairman Danish Iqbal has scouted the 23-year-old midfielder, who played a crucial role in erstwhile Minerva Punjab's I-League quest back in the 2017-18 season.
Hailing from Indore, Moinuddin Khan had scored a peach of a goal against Mohun Bagan, announcing his arrival at the top level and eventually went on to win the I-League that season with the Warriors. He is a very versatile midfielder who can play on both flanks and can also slot in behind the primary striker.
His consistent performances for Minerva Punjab in the 2017-18 I-League campaign caught the eye of Mohun Bagan, as the youngster joined the Green and Maroons in the following season. However, he was a shadow of himself in Kolkata and dropped down the pecking order in a team full of talented players. Therefore, he left the club in the middle of the term and re-joined Minerva Punjab.

Moinuddin struggled for minutes last season, as Punjab FC played some good football under Yan Law's leadership. The midfielder failed to start a single game and was restricted to only four appearances from the bench.
However, he will be looking to redeem himself at Mohammedan and hopefully display a better version of himself in his second stint in Kolkata. Speaking on the new signing, Iqbal said: “Moinuddin is a very exciting and versatile player and we are really happy to bring him in the squad this year.”
Moinuddin Khan will also be reunited with his former Punjab FC coach Law. The 27-year old tactician believes that his club can qualify for the I-League this season and adding the player's versatility will provide him with more options in attack.
Mohammedan Sporting have already signed foreigners like Willis Plaza and Eze Kingsley Obumnene and have also retained most of their domestic contingent from last season. Experienced defender Shouvik Ghosh has also joined the Black Panthers to provide more stability at the back. Now, with Moinuddin's arrival they will have more fluidity upfront.
