Player profile
Munmun Lugun began his football career at a young age, captaining Delhi in the junior national Dr. BC Roy Trophy in 2010. As a professional, his first breakthrough move was joining United Sikkim in the Second Division League. This was in 2012 and the full-back played a prominent role in the club achieving promotion to the I-League.
Lugun made his I-League debut in the 2012-13 season, featuring for the full 90 minutes in a 3-2 win over Salgaocar FC. He played in all but two matches for his club in that campaign and later left them following their relegation. A season-long stint at Rangdajied United followed, before he got the chance to make his Indian Super League (ISL) debut with Delhi Dynamos.
The 28-year-old made just one appearance in the ISL in its very first edition. Since then, he made nine more appearances in the league the following year, and also went on to represent Pune FC, Mumbai FC, Mumbai City FC, Minerva Punjab FC and Mohammedan SC.
Most recently, Munmun Lugun featured for Garhwal FC in the Football Delhi Second Division League Qualifiers which took place last month. The Delhi-based outfit failed to earn qualification to the forthcoming I-league Qualifiers, despite good performances in the competition.

Overall, the defender has made over 80 appearances across various national leagues. Most of those where in the I-League, where he played 68 matches for five different clubs. He scored the only goal of his career while at Mohammedan SC, in a 1-0 win over Garhwal during last season's I-League Qualifiers.
Kerala United's pre-season preparations
After an impressive debut season in the Kerala Premier League (KPL), KUFC have earned nomination to the I-League Qualifiers. It is not yet confirmed as to whether they will feature in the competition. However, they have already started signing players and building a squad. So, far, Kerala United have signed former Mohun Bagan academy player Athul Unnikrishnan, ex-Minerva Punjab and Bengaluru United midfielder Akhil Praveen and others.
Another noteworthy move that they have made is for former Shakhtar Donetsk U-21 defender Gabriel Lima Silva, who is just 20-years-old. In the coming weeks, the club will sign more overseas starlets who are similarly young, Khel Now has learned.
